Many view Benazir Bhutto, the recently assassinated ex- aboriginal Minister of Pakistan, as a pioneer of democracy and others dont. He was hanged after having been ousted from office and she was brutally assassinated after she served as Prime Minister. Benazir Bhuttos personal history include the following of her fathers footsteps to the office of Prime Minister. She co-chaired the PPP with her mother and held rallies against the Pakistani government with her brothers. She was one of the youngest world leadership when elected in 1988.



Her reign would be under a constant microscope as her administration seemed disorganized, random, and even reckless at times, although at other times, it was completely the opposite. Her husbands relations were suspect, too. All this was despite the fact that Benazir was highly educated at Harvard and then at Oxford. This family would be no stranger to violence, each as victim or instigators. Her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, was, at one point, charged with the death of her brother, Mir Murtaza Bhutto, but never convicted. Her other brother, Shahnawaz was also instal dead. Her children, Bilawal, 19, Bakhtawar, 18, and Asifa, 15, survive her, as does her husband. Her husband and eldest son are still political activists.
